Europe Backpacking Trip

Well, I always half-jokingly say I'm going to take over the world when I grow up.  So I decided to back up the talk a little bit and went to Europe on a backpacking trip by myself over the summer, so I could see how people were living and how I could help them out when I became the world taker-overer...

...but I am a college student which means me and money are distant friends - which meant a lot of spending the night trying to sleep sitting down in the train and a lot of bread and water.  I at least tried to get grape juice so I could at least go for doing a lot of Communion, but grape juice was not as affordable as water.  (Water came out too when they pierced His side, didn't it?  Anyway...)

So below are a few pictures.  I'm not a big picture guy but I ended up taking quite a bit.

1)  Switzerland - Probably my favorite country I went to.  Peaceful and beautiful.

2)  The Eiffel Tower in the background.

3)  Can't forget about Rome.

4)  UN HQ - It'll be a hangout place for me when I become the world taker-overer.

5)  I found Pinnochio and Geppetto!

6)  Jesus is everywhere =)

9) One time I indulged a little and got milk, cheese, AND a banana along with my literal daily bread...

Acts 16:25~28

Why didn't Paul escape once the prison doors opened? 

Maybe it's because the reason he worshipped was motivated only by that deep love between him and the Lord that transcends circumstances.  If he had started to worship in the hopes of release from this desperate circumstance, a breakthrough in a way, he might just well have split as soon as the earthquake hit, because his focus would have been on escape, not worship.

Dear Lord, let me not worship to try and get something from you, or because I'm trying to escape a circumstance.  Let it be purely out of love for You.  In saying that, I need the fullness of Your Love to consume me, because I can only love You when I am first filled with Your unconditional Love...

media lesson

i liked the idea at GXP that God can use the media to speak.  so let me try this one on for size.

of course not in the natural...my hair aint that long.

but in the spiritual, I am a child of God, and consumed with the Holy Spirit's Fire.  for those who know a little about the character above, you would know that his current state is characterized by 1) the fire, and 2) crazy mind-blowing power he doesnt have usually.  i mean like enemy-butt-kicking strength.  also, you would know that as he fights his enemies and comes to near-death experiences (because of all the fighting), it makes him stronger, so that the next time he fights the same enemy, he is more dangerous to the enemy.

So ask for the Fire and Power (FirePower?) of the Holy Spirit, and set ablaze your circle of influence.  then together we'll change the world.  may 1 Corinthians 2 : 4~5 be truth in your life.

...and if all that is not motivation enough to seek His Face and His Presence...you are more muh-shi-suh.  i mean, look at my pic =)
